About me
Hi! 👋 I am a recent graduate that studied Computer Science and Robotics at UT Austin in the Turing Scholars honors program. My work in human-computer interaction and accessibility has been published at premier conferences, including ACM CHI and UIST. Advised by Dr. Amy Pavel, I am working on making complex physical skill learning (i.e., dance) accessible for blind and low-vision (BLV) individuals. I also collaborated on an accessible task assistant to support BLV individuals with physical tasks such as cooking and crafting. Please see the Publications tab for more information!
I am broadly excited about making learning and creativity accessible through personalized and adaptive tools. I use community-centered approaches such as co-design and user-informed system development and evaluation to amplify the voices of people underserved by technology.
I have also completed three internships at Apple, where I worked on features for Apple Intelligence and iOS UI/UX. I am currently a full-time engineer building camera software for future releases.
Beyond research, I enjoy dancing. I was trained in Bharatnatyam as a child and I began learning Hip-hop and House in college. I also enjoy making art and have worked with various mediums (oil, acrylic, pastels, charcoal, graphite) for the past 10 years.
I’m eager to connect with people about new research ideas, or just to chat! Please feel free to reach out at ujjaini@utexas.edu!
